Read this first.

Hello, you.

I hesitated very, very much before deciding to go ahead with opening up this space in my website. I was telling myself that “I am not even a love or relationship guru?!??!?! Who am I to be writing to people about love??!?!?!??”

I’ve only been with fewer than 5 lovers.

There are days whereby I go like, “I suck at love, who will ever want to be with me”.

And it doesn’t help that my current relationship with love is one of intentional muteness (you can read my subsequent articles to get a sense of what I mean).

But then here I am. Here we are.

Because I also realise that it is exactly these reasons that show me why this space should be created.

this space could just be where you finally take that courage to listen to the truth of what’s happening for you.

this space could just be where my words could give you that nudge towards what you have been fearful to receive.

this space could just be where you can just… be. To hold you as you stumble through the strings that stretch across your path as you journey in love.

My articles will be written with no assumptions that I know exactly what you’re going through.

Because I wouldn’t.

Regardless of how similar our encounters with love may sound, I will never be able to fully understand what you’re going through, be it the full-fledged high and excite of a first love,

or the heart-shattering darkness of the heartbreak from the second.

And I want you to always understand that.

To understand that you are the only owner of your experiences. And even if others fail to understand you, all the emotions and thoughts that come up for you are valid.

To understand that as you read my articles, and even as you read articles by other writers, you are here to seek perspectives and advice, but never instructions nor permanent definitions. Understand that each and every of our definitions of love are unique.

Pinched and kneaded in different areas, to form up how we currently view love to be.

So, back to this space of love.

I hope for this to be a safe space for both me and you :) Love can be many things, and as I seek to gently unpack and peek under the covers of all that love can and cannot be,

may you receive what you need most too.
